Effective date: October 25, 2026
This policy explains how PrescottGO.com handles information when you browse our Prescott guide, contact us, manage a business listing, or use our location and tour tools. For privacy questions or requests, use our contact form or email contact@prescottgo.com.
Information you provide
- Messages and reports: We store the name, optional email address, subject and message you submit. A report may also identify the event, business or other item being reported. Messages are available to authorized administrators and may be sent through our email service to the site contact inbox. Providing an email lets us acknowledge or respond to your message; submitting a message does not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
- Business and administrator accounts: We keep account identifiers, contact details, assigned listings, authentication information and administrative activity. Authorized administrators manage these accounts and can access account credentials through administrative tools. Business accounts can manage their assigned information. Public listing information, including any business contact information you choose to publish, is visible to visitors.
- Listings and submissions: We keep information you submit for events, menus, businesses, advertising offers, corrections and points of interest. Information intended for a listing may be published; private messages are not automatically published as listings. We also collect publicly available business and organization information to maintain the guide.
Traffic, security and usage information
Our application logs requests, dates and times, page paths, response codes, IP addresses, browser information, referring page paths and, where relevant, account identifiers and login results. These records help operate the site, investigate errors and prevent misuse. Repeated missing-page requests or failed sign-ins may result in temporary restrictions. Application traffic logs exclude passwords, submitted form contents and query strings; hosting and analytics services may maintain their own request records.
The public counter is an aggregate count of qualifying page views, rather than a list of visitors. We separately record openings of restaurant and event listings, including the listing, time and event occurrence. Those interaction records do not include a visitor IP address or account identifier. Authorized administrators can review internal usage and security reports.
Matomo analytics
We use Matomo, to understand visits and improve the guide. Analytics may include pages and links used, visit times, referring websites, browser/device information, cookie identifiers, IP information and an approximate location inferred from an IP address. Listing openings may also be recorded as analytics events. IP handling and retention depend on the analytics configuration; our separate security logs can retain a full IP address.
Matomo can use analytics cookies to recognize visits. You can limit analytics using your browser cookie/privacy controls or a tracking blocker. See Matomo's cookie information. We do not sell personal information or supply it to advertisers for cross-site targeted advertising. Listing offers on PrescottGO do not require an advertising-network tracking profile.
Cookies and information saved on your device
Session and security cookies support forms, anti-spam checks and signed-in access. If you sign in, a persistent login cookie can keep the account active for the idle period selected at login, up to 30 days; activity can renew that period. Matomo may set analytics cookies. Your browser also stores the mobile font-size preference locally until you clear it. Blocking or clearing cookies can sign you out or prevent forms and account features from working.
Location, compass, camera and photographs
Location tools ask for your device's permission before using precise GPS or supported motion/compass sensors. The walking test uses your position in the browser to identify nearby corners and points of interest. It does not send a continuous GPS trail to our server. Ordinary Prescott weather forecasts do not require your precise location.
When you save a POI through the location-capture tool, we store the captured coordinates, accuracy, capture time, labels, looking radius, descriptions, narration and photos you submit. During the temporary shared test, saved POIs and their location information and photos can be viewed or edited by other users with access to that tool. Submit only location information and images you intend to share. A camera button opens your device's photo-capture interface when you choose to use it; we do not continuously record your camera or microphone.
Uploaded originals may contain metadata such as capture date or location. We may retain originals privately and display processed image copies. Stop location sensing using the page's Stop control or revoke permission in your browser/device settings. Closing a page also stops that page's active location session.
External services and links
Hosting, email delivery, analytics and technical service providers process information needed to operate the site. Our hosting environment is provided through IONOS. External maps, map tiles, video players and thumbnails can receive request information, such as your IP address, when their content is loaded. Examples include YouTube, OpenStreetMap and Esri. Google Maps, Apple Maps, restaurant websites, booking services, news sources and review sites have their own policies when you follow their links. We do not control those services or their retention practices.
Why we use and share information
We use information to provide the guide, publish and maintain requested content, respond to messages, manage accounts, measure use, maintain backups and protect the site. Access is limited to authorized people and providers who need it for those purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect people, the site and its users. Public content remains public and may be copied or indexed by others.
Retention and security
Application traffic logs are scheduled for pruning after 90 days. Cleanup occurs during site activity, so removal may not happen at the exact 90-day point. Contact messages, accounts, listings, administrative records, analytics and backups have separate retention periods; there is no single automatic deletion deadline for all of them. We retain information as needed for its purpose, security, legal obligations and recovery. Backup copies may remain after information is removed from the live site until those backups are replaced or deleted.
We use HTTPS, access controls and other safeguards, but cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details or other sensitive personal information through the contact form.
Your choices and requests
You may request access to, correction of or deletion of information relating to you by contacting contact@prescottgo.com or using the contact form. Explain the information or listing concerned. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information needed for security, legal requirements or backup recovery. You can also manage browser cookies, saved preferences and device permissions directly. Any applicable legal rights depend on your circumstances and location.
Children
The guide includes family activities, but we do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact us to request review and removal.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The effective date above identifies the version of the policy. Material changes will be described here or through an appropriate site notice. Contact contact@prescottgo.com with questions.
